Overview

Yirgacheffe Idido Washed is sourced from the renowned Idido washing station where precise sorting, controlled fermentation and extended raised-bed drying create a clean and articulate profile. In the cup, black currant and raspberry weave through floral orange blossom aromatics, underpinned by a silky mouthfeel and well-balanced sweetness. Roasted light to medium for clarity and lift, this coffee is particularly rewarding when brewed with pour-over or gentle filter methods. Its lively acidity and floral lift make it a standout representation of washed Ethiopian coffees, inviting repeated exploration and refinement in every brew.

THE ORIGIN

From the Birthplace of Coffee

Grown in the celebrated Idido village of Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region, this coffee reflects the birthplace of Arabica itself. Smallholder farmers cultivate heirloom coffee varieties at high elevations where cool mountain air slows cherry maturation, concentrating sweetness and acidity. After careful hand-picking, cherries are washed and fermented to reveal exceptional clarity and floral complexity. The result is a vibrant cup layered with citrus brightness, berry sweetness and delicate florals. Yirgacheffe coffees are globally prized for their elegance and aromatic lift, and this Idido lot expresses the region’s terroir beautifully - clean, refined and unmistakably Ethiopian.
